Are Latter-day Saints watch the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives? And if so, what do you think?

Why do I watch? I want to see what it says about the church, and the culture. Honestly I don’t think there’s anything about the church in it. The outside temple scenes being juxtaposed with the girls tiktok clips and ongoing drama is crazy and sensational. This is really Utah housewives mixed saints and sinners controversy. It’s a little bit Jack Mormon mean girls.

What do I think? I think it’s sad. It reflects hypocritical and catty Utah. There’s so much back biting and girls being mean to each other. It hurts to watch, but it is a reflection on Utah society on the fringe.

I hope it has an effect of making people curious about what the church is really about, but they may be disappointed to find out the drama isn’t as thick and it’s more typical Christian with restorationist flare than something that hiding a secret of an underground conspiracy or secret.

I saw a post on X which says "control your lust & you'll understand how boring 90% of women are." What do you think about it? Do you agree or disagree? Why?

As a member it feels like high school drama mixed with poor taste church culture. It is the “Mormon” mantra that makes it interesting. A baby blessing where the other girls don’t get invited seems like the only thing so far and I’m 7 episodes in. The chip n dales Vegas episode would definitely not happen with 98% of active LDS. To focus on the fringe and suggest it is common is hypocritical. The swinging that was mentioned is definitely NOT ok, nor is strip clubs or fornication. The focus on vanity is more typical Utah, but also American culture big in Texas and California.

I’ve been watching it, skipping some inappropriate scenes. There’s a ton of that. This is not my scene or typical viewing, but was curious to understand the controversy. I would say it is not good viewing for Latter Day Saints and would not recommend it for active LDS. My wife wasn’t happy I was watching it, even if I’m just auditing the course for analytical reasons.
